A planning tool you can hand to families between sessions

Tiny Tummies is a weekly meal planner for families with children roughly ages 1–6. It is built to reduce the daily planning load at home and to keep what happens between appointments structured and legible — not to assess, diagnose or treat. Pediatric OTs, SLPs, RDs and providers can share it with families at no cost.

How the planner lines up with established feeding approaches

Tiny Tummies is built by a parent, not a clinical team, and no professional body has reviewed or endorsed it. The descriptions below are about how the software is structured, so you can judge whether it fits the approach you already use with a family.

    Division of Responsibility

Plans describe what is offered and when, and leave how much and whether to eat with the child. Meal cards avoid pressure language, rewards and clean-plate framing, in line with Ellyn Satter's Division of Responsibility.

    Food chaining

Each week pairs familiar anchor foods with a small number of related targets that share flavor, color or texture properties with foods the child already accepts — a structure consistent with food-chaining practice.

    Repeated exposure

Where a family opts into new foods, the planner schedules the same target food 2–3 times across the week rather than once, reflecting research on food neophobia and the number of neutral exposures typically associated with increased acceptance.

    ARFID awareness

Tiny Tummies is a planning tool, not a screening or treatment tool. Copy avoids implying that restrictive eating is a behavior problem, and the app points families toward their own care team when intake, growth or variety concerns are raised. It is not intended to replace assessment or intervention for ARFID or other feeding disorders.

Allergens, textures and what the tool does not do

    • Tiny Tummies is allergy-aware: suggestions are filtered against the allergens, dislikes and texture stage a family enters, and it is designed to help them avoid those items in a plan.
    • That filtering works only on the ingredient data we hold. It cannot account for cross-contamination, brand or manufacturing changes, hidden ingredients, or substitutions made at home. Families are asked to read product labels and review preparation themselves.
    • Some meal descriptions are generated with AI language models, which can be wrong or incomplete. Parents are prompted to review each meal before serving.
    • Nothing in the app is reviewed by a clinician, and it is not a substitute for assessment, therapy or medical nutrition therapy. See our methodology and limitations page for the full detail.
